Camera obscura on a deserted island

Camera obscura was installed on a deserted island on the Vistula River as part of an land art exhibition organized within the residency program of Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Wiewiórka. At the center of a sandy riverbank, a tent was erected and its interior transformed into a projection chamber.

At the top of the structure, a rotating optical system was mounted, allowing the projection axis to be directed toward different parts of the horizon. The image of the river, the tree line, and the sky appeared inside the tent in real time — inverted, fluid, and responsive to changes in light and the movement of air.

The installation explores the relationship between landscape and its optical translation — between the direct experience of space and its projection. The temporary tent structure functioned as a mobile perceptual device, suspended between nature, technology, and the presence of the observer.
